Driving Directions The airport is located at the centre of Switzerland's road network with excellent connections to cities, including Zurich, Bern, Basel and St Gallen on the A20 Highway, and Kloten, Bülach, and Schaffhausen, Glattbrugg and Rümlang. Car Parking There are two covered car parks (A and B) located adjacent to the terminals and two further car parks (E and F) located a short distance away. Car Hire Car hire companies located in car park B include Alamo/National, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt. Public Transport Rail: Train: The airport has a Swiss Federal Railways Station located under Terminal B, with trains to central Zurich and many city and tourist destinations across Switzerland. Porters can be hired to assist disabled travellers between the airport and the railway station. Road: Taxi: Taxis can be found outside terminals A and B; for reservations (tel: (0)1 800 7777). Bus: Many Zurich and nearby hotels offer a shuttle service. The bus terminal is located adjacent to car park B; ten regular bus lines serve regional towns and villages. Lines 1, 2, 759, and 768 travel via the Balsberg stop, which connects to the S7 regional railway line. Line 781 travels via Glattbrugg, which connects to the S5 regional railway line. An excellent night bus network connects the airport to destinations all over Switzerland. Information And Help Desks Each terminal has an information welcome desk located in the Arrivals hall (tel: (0)1 812 7210 for Terminal A1; tel: (0)1 812 7216 for Terminal B1). FASTpoint terminals, located throughout the airport, provide information on airport facilities, shopping amenities, flight and train schedules, maps and directories, as well as a range of other services. Airport Facilities Money and communications: There are full service banks, which also provide bureau de change services, located in the Arrivals and Departures lounges. There is a post office in car park B. Nine FASTpoint terminals, located throughout the airport, provide telephone, fax and photocopying facilities; some of the terminals feature credit-card charging options. Eating and drinking: Restaurants, coffee shops, snack bars and take-away facilities are available. Shopping: Shops, including duty free, are also available. Luggage: There is a lost property office which deals with Swissair enquiries. Other facilities: The airport has a medical and dental centre in office Complex A, as well as a pharmacy in each terminal. The pharmacy in Terminal A, in the Departures hall, is open 0600-2200, whilst the pharmacies in Terminal B and in the transit area are open 0800-2000. Disabled Facilities Facilities include accessible toilets and telephone booths, ramps and lifts. Disabled parking spaces are available in car park B. There is a special assistance desk in Departures for travellers with special needs (tel: (0)1 812 6364). |
